Coppieters Foundation gathered academic experts and members at a 3 day event in Naoned/Nantes to set the research priorities for the year, exchange ideas, debate and renew commitment towards facilitating data driven and well informed public policy decisions.
Advances in cultural and linguistic diversity, international systems and self-determiunation, peace promotion, governance and democracy, gender equality, climate, housing and social policies were at the centre of the debates.
During the meeting, Antonia Luciani, President of Coppieters Foundation, delivered a speech to commemorate Europe Day-9 May. Luciani’s speech reinforced the idea of a diverse Europe, with many peoples, cultures and languages.
During the gathering, Coppieters Foundation welcomed 2 new full members from Aragon. The Aragnum Foundation and Fundación Gaspar Torrente.
The Center for Civic Initiatives for National Minorities, a newly created civil society organisation from Moldova, joined the proceeding for the first time as guest. And the Breton Cultural Centre Yezhoù ha Sevenadur offered insight on their activities on the ground.
They join a growing network of 14 think tanks, cultural and civil society organisations and especialised media outlets across Europe.
On the sidelines of the assembly, our President Antonia Luciani took part on a debate of EFA Women’s Forum to highlight the Foundation’s commitment to advancing the feminist discourse in Europe and present the internal policies of the foundation to facilitate presence of Women in the governing bodies.
To conclude, she addressed the broader public in an open event where she presented the work of the foundation. In her closing speech she put forward the work of the foundation at European and International level and reaffirmed the commitment to democracy, self-determination, and social justice in the face of rising authoritarianism. “Together, we will keep building global alliances for a fairer, more inclusive world” she concluded.
