Coppieters 2017 accounts audited…and approved!

The Coppieters Foundation has received an unqualified  external audit report for 10 consecutive years.

The European Parliament and and external audit firm confirms correctness of 2017 financial data and book-keeping:

Ernst and Young findings show that the expenditure has been incurred and accounted for correctly and in line with EU financial regulation and rules of implementation, the grant agreement signed with the European Parliament and all applicable Belgian law.

Our Activities for 2017 include:

• Publications like a study on Second homes buying and it’s impact on peripheral regions, and an essay on feminism and minorities
• Events and conferences and capacity building, like the Coppieters academy human rights, linguistic and cultural diversity, minority rights, self-determination, and the principle of subsidiarity, Green nations on the possibilities of decentralisation for green and sustainable policies in Europe, Stateless-nations and Media landscapes, and Media and plural identities in a multicultural Europe to explore media landscapes and opportunities for creating new public broadcasting services that protects multilingualism and minority languages.
• Coppieters Awards 2017 to recognize Carme Forcadell, who is currently unjustly detained (without trial and without bail) for her involvement in the Catalan referendum of October 2017.

Inaki Irazabalbeitia, treasurer of the Coppieters Foundation, confirmed in a tweet his comittment with transparency, good quality reporting and sound financial management of european taxpayers resources.
