Laura Marchig was elected new bureau member during the #Coppieters22 General Assembly. She is a journalist, writer, theatre woman, cultural worker and political activist. Being a member of the native Italian minority that lives in Croatia and Slovenia, she has always fought not only for the recognition and expansion of the rights of the community to which she belongs, but she has been encouraging dialogue and peaceful coexistence between peoples through her literary, theatrical and journalistic work.
The 18th General Assembly of the Coppieters Foundation was held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 12 to 14 May 2022.
Our members, associated think tanks, and experts actively contributed to the discussion and exchanges by approving our work programme for the year 2022 with projects on democracy, cultural identities, sustainability, feminism and environmental issues.
Xabier Macias, President of the Coppieters Foundation, presented our activity report to the European Free Alliance general assembly attendees and showed the growing number of projects carried out, as well as the growing number of topics covered.
Following 3 days of inspiring debates, we remain committed to generating new ideas for a Europe that is more inclusive, fair, and sustainable, based on cultural diversity, human rights, the right to self-determination, social justice, freedom of speech and assembly, and gender equality.
