Two days to change Europe

Luís Vilachá, author of the paper, holds a Master of Arts in International Relations, Security and Development by the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He developed this think piece during a research internship for the Centre Maurits Coppieters.

He analyses the declining support towards the European Union in a crucial moment. He believes that next European elections represent a challenge from different points of views.

He argues that (1) lack of leadership, (2) the current European party system architecture, (3) shift towards intergovernmentalism in decision making and (4) crisis exit strategies are elements that will fuel eurosceptical vote at the May 2014 European Elections.
