Speech: 5 years promoting democratic values

The European Union Democracy Observatory (EUDO) and the Observatory for Political Parties and Representation (OPPR) of the European University Institute of Florence organised a conference on the evolution of political foundation since 2008 – the time when it was recognised and financed as such by the European Parliament. Its aim was to make a first evaluation of intention to help produce a first assessment of the foundations’ activities and role.

In that occasion, Centre Maurits Coppieters’ President Xabier Macias explained  among other topics (1) What is CMC’s role (2) and how did CMC, as Political Foundation at European level interpreted its role in the last five years, (3) Also CMC’s view of the evolution of the European Union in the near future.
