The last of the Voices From the Periphery: Global dialogues on peace, democracy and diversity debate of the season is devoted to discuss the current consequences of the decolonisation process in latin America. We will make a critical analysis of the unresolved questions of the post-colonial era and how to address them.
Our keynote speaker, Karina Ochoa is a human rights and feminist activist. She is a professor on rural development for the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (UAM) in Mexico. In 2018 she published ground breaking social research in the field of decolonisation from a gender perspective. Prior to that she has lead editorial and publishing efforts in the field of feminism, and post-colonialism analysis in the global south.
Her activism efforts drive her to have an involved commitment with rural indigenous women in Mexico and throughout latin America.
