NPLD-Coppieters Campus 2021

Immersion Education: Exploring What Works in Linguistically Diverse Contexts Across Europe

Events / Wed 24 Nov 2021 08:15

The third edition of the Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity (NPLD)-Coppieters Campus was held in Palma de Mallorca on 24 November and focused on immersion education, exploring what works in linguistically diverse contexts across Europe.

The Campus attracted representatives of Constitutional, Regional or Small-State’s languages having responsibility in language policy planning. Representatives of other entities, such as associations, universities or research centres, working in the area of minority languages, whether it be for the promotion of the latter, the normalisation of their use, research, evaluation or other initiatives on this topic, were also invited to discuss and showcase the specific actions undertaken to activate the social use of those languages. The campus served as a space for meeting, communication, collaboration and exchange of ideas between researchers working in linguistic policy, language planning and evaluation.
