European workshop on sociolinguistics

Coppieters Foundation, the Foro Soberanista and CIEMEN organise an international two-day workshop to explore the current state and future of regional and minority languages across Europe.

Through five insightful panels we will attepmt a holistic approach by focusing on:

  • How regional and minority languages are affected by shifting social dynamics
  • The existing legal framework for linguistic rights
  • Comparative insights from Belgium and Switzerland
  • The effortsmade by civil society organizations
  • How the digital age and globalization are transforming language use

Join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking event that will offer a comparative look at language policies, the impact of globalization, and the power of community engagement. Together, let’s forge a future where Europe’s linguistic diversity is celebrated and sustained.
