Conversations on Youth Participation

A series of discussions on youth political engagement, activism and rights in times of crises

Events / Mon 15 Jun 2020 10:00

For the first time, the Coppieters Foundation launches a series of video discussions with experts. From June to September 2020, we will be releasing three conversations held with experts on youth participation.

Episode 1 with Dr Kostis Kornetis
Episode 2 with Sodfa Daaji
Episode 3 with Lucija Karnelutti

How does the current pandemic impact the involvement of young generations of Europeans in politics? How have young generations coped with such crises in the past? In which ways can youth activism be maintained and flourish despite current measures restricting our liberties? How does the current context impact youth’s access to their rights?

These questions and more will be tackled in exchanges between specialists and the Coppieters Foundation, with the participation of the European Free Alliance and the European Free Alliance youth.

We look forward to inspiring conversations with:

  • Dr Kostis Kornetis, Teaching Associate in Modern European History at the History Department of Sheffield University
  • Sodfa Daaji, Volunteer for the European Network of Migrant Women
  • Lucija Karnelutti, Board Member of the Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions
